For when it is HAAAARRRDDD...Remember this !

Boy have the last couple of months been a tough season in my life. Perhaps you are going through one of those yourself or know someone who is. Life can get really hard sometimes, and it feels like from every corner you are getting beat down. At some point it may even begin to feel like the months or even years are going by and nothing is changing! The inclination to despair is so high, the nasty feeling on your heart seems impossible to shake off, sometimes the thought that God has forgotten you dares to show itself!!

This is not my first and I know fully well it will not be my last tough bump in life. The bible even says in John 16:33 that while we are on this earth, we will have many trials and many sorrows, we live in a fallen world. However, this is the first time I have learnt how best to deal with the low seasons of life. The tougher and hotter the season has become, the better a student I have been and I have learnt that there is only way to go through the storms of life. And no the lesson is not an easy pill to swallow ( the good ones never are).

I don't what you are struggling through right now ( or what is on it's way). It could be your family, or your marriage, your children or even your relationships. It could be your job or lack of, your career or business, it could be your finances, your health, your past failures ..... this list could go on and on, it could be anything! No matter what it is, my answer to you is one. The way through any of it is with Jesus by your side, because he has already overcome this fallen world. Isaiah 9:6 calls Him the Prince of Peace and it is not for the sake of it. That is who He is! That is what He brings. Peace.

We only see and only think about what we choose to focus on, and whatever we focus on magnifies. You are going to have to be intentional about not focusing on your struggles, your pain, your issues, your fears, and make Jesus your focus instead! Jesus, not your issues has got to be your entire focus. He has got to be what is magnified. Do this by feeding on His word always, and by declaring His promises that are yes and amen over your life 2 Corinthians 1:20.

You have got to have total Trust and Faith, giving Him full control of your life. I think of the attitude a child has when they allow to be thrown up in the air, knowing without a doubt that they will be caught, that's what we have got to exercise day in day out. To remember that our help comes 100% from the Lord Psalm 121. Learn to take your worries, your pain, your doubts and fears to God, learn to Talk it out with Him. Don't go 'facebooking' your problems or start discussing them with other people before going to Him. Are they your creator? Are they your source?

You have got to take charge of your mind, take captive those thoughts that are bothering you ( the worries, the pain, the struggles, the depression, the down thoughts, the personal disciplines, the addictions, the issues with self esteem, the dead end relationships ) or whatever it could be and make them submit to the word of God. Fight your problems with the word of God. Equip yourself, put His word in your heart. Do not allow your mind to be governed by what your flesh says, you need God the Holy Spirit always in charge of your mindset and your thoughts Romans 8:6 .

I have no other answer, no better answer. Jesus is the answer, the only answer. Yesterday, Today and Forever.

And for when the storm is not passing? For when it is never ending? Praise Him! Worship Him! In the good times and the bad times, He is still God. He is still good and His plans for you are always meant for good. Jeremiah 28: 11-13 . He see's the bigger picture. Trust Him. He has your whole world in His hands.

God has got to be your joy, when it's good, when it's bad. When is it easy and when it is hard. All you really need is Him. All we truly need is Him. Life is more than living just for our problems to be gone or for this and that to be like this and that, because even if that happens, it does not complete us. It doesn't give us the peace our soul seeks.

Part of the lyrics from Desert Song - Hillsong United .

All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship ....

And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

You want to know what else? We truly don't grow and become better when things are easy. There is no challenge when it's easy, hence no room for growth. I am learning that pain is not a trial, it is an initiation, it is not meant to be a battle, it is supposed to define us. It moulds us, it better's us. Do not pray for an easy life, do not ask God to make the hardships go away, pray instead that He gives you strength and wisdom and guides and walks with you through it all. What you are going through may not feel good to you, but it is good for you.

I am a much better Rita today than I was yesterday because of all I have been going through.

Remember this, God has already won. He has overcome our enemies ( pains, trials, suffering, injustice, failure, struggles etc). Jesus has already overcome this world. He wants you to believe and always remember that and to have His Peace in your heart no matter what it is you are facing. Philippians 4:6-7. Nothing in this world can give you Peace in your innermost self like Jesus can and will, if you let Him.

Love, Ree.

He will never leave you nor forsake you
